Cuisinart DCC-2200 review – quality coffee maker

Hello and welcome all you crazy coffee fanatics, and let’s face it, you are reading one of my reviews you must be at least a little crazy about coffee. This review is about the Cuisinart DCC-2200 and we will be covering a few of the good points and a few of the bad points (if you want to see them as bad points that is of course…). Let’s begin by mentioning a few of the more negative aspects of this coffee maker.
No thermal carafe! A big no-no, I must say. Most machines that do not employ a thermal carafe, have a tacky plastic carafe with a heated base that causes the coffee to lose flavor at an uncomfortably fast rate.
Heating element produces an irritating bleep when the heating cycle finishes.
The water reservoir only has a 4 x 3 inch opening for pouring water into, this might not be considered such a big by some, but it does mean you have to pour a little bit slower when filling the tank… and this is a pretty tank!
Above points aside, there are plenty of redeeming features that make this Cuisinart DCC-2200 worth a closer look.
It does produce a cup of coffee that rivals any coffee shop. There is where we move onto the price of the machine, which by most people’s standards is a little on the expensive side, but we have to consider how much we would be paying if went to the coffee shop every day. At least 4 dollars a cup, so we are making a potential saving on that of 80 to 90 percent. So we really would be saving money over the course of a year or so.
In summary, this coffee maker is ideal for people looking for that bigger brew of coffee I the mornings. It should be noted that the Cuisinart DCC-2200 can produce excellent coffee when brewing 14 cups the same as it can when producing just 4.
